Rise Up & Care inverts the traditional international charity model
by identifying and supporting local leaders invested in transforming the lives of young people.

In 2022, Rise Up & Care began to focus its research, publications, and support on the potential and experience of practicioners of underserved communities and civil society fan organizations in the football / soccer ecosystem throughout the world. Football is the world’s biggest activity, with over four billion fans and nearly a billion players. The emerence of new communities on the pitch and in the terraces can make massive contributions to democracy, civil society, women, the climate, anti-racism, the loneliness epidemic, health, and more. The first two books from this research are now available: Soccer, Globalization, and Innovation: The Beautiful Game in the 21st Century, & The Global Pitch: Why Soccer Matters in our Changing World.

We Identify

Rise Up & Care identifies innovative non-profits in developing communities around the globe. These non-profits must have at least five years of proven success using high-level performance training to transform the lives of young people.

We Invest

Rise Up & Care invests in long-term relationships with the organizations we identify. We travel to these communities to personally meet with organization leaders and participants to learn more about their work and their specific needs.
